This was made on a 10″ hoop with hemp twine, beads and feathers. The feathers were taken from a ruffed grouse I found freshly hit (and dead) on the road. My suspicion was that when I was walking with my dog, Bella, we scared it out of the woods. At the end of the trail, we took the road and that’s where I found it. I took it home with me and salvaged the feathers. I feel this was a way to honor the bird in case my suspicion was right.
